The founder Merrill J. Fernando originally dedicated his life to tea and the rich colonial history of the country. When people started longing to visit the tea plantations, an initial idea to open up Sri Lanka's history, culture and nature to guests became reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They decided to create an exclusive Sri Lankan Boutique hotel company. The first resort was the award-winning Ceylon Tea Trails in the Central Highlands. This was followed by Cape Weligama , a luxurious resort  near Galle and then the Wild Coast Tented Lodge next to Yala National Park. Today, the luxurious collection of small boutique resorts are member of the exclusive Relais and Chateaux properties.  They are known for the best service in the country and have won several award over the last years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The combination of \u2018Tea-Sea-Safari\u2019 offers the perfect round trip of authentic experiences for discerning travellers and at the same time contributes to the protection of local communities and the environment through the MJF Foundation and Dilmah Conservation.
