Polito Collection

The Polito family is passionate about hospitality and wants to make travellers' dreams come true. It all began with Maria, who in the late 1960s converted the family home, Casa Maria, into a holiday home where she welcomed tourists during the summer. She did this to help her husband Francesco, who had emigrated to New York to work as a chef in one of the famous Italian restaurants in the Little Italy neighbourhood. Maria was supported by her sons Giacomo and Luigi.

In 2003, the family acquired the Therasia Resort Sea & Spa on the island of Vulcano in the Aeolian archipelago in Sicily, in a dream location overlooking the sea and surrounded by unspoilt nature.

In 2011, the Botania Relais & Spa was added, set in the middle of a 3-hectare park on Ischia. Today, both hotels belong to ‘The Leading Hotels of the World’. In 2021, Luigi and Rita's daughter Francesca joined the company after attending a Swiss hotel management school and gaining experience in the luxury hotel industry around the world, and began working at the Therasia Resort Sea & Spa on Vulcano.

The collection is completed by the Manzi Hotel & Spa and Costa del Capitano Seaside Villas, also located on Ischia.
